i saw one of the most awe inspiring sights as i flew over the canadian rockies coming into vancouver. it reminded me of the time i had a security blanket when i was really young and sucked my thumb. yes, i must admit that i was a very accomplished thumb sucker. my blanket was warm, cozy and i knew all the right spots on that blanket to sooth me.
after the first general session of the first ever canadian national youth workers conference, i felt soothed. 900 attendees from all across cananda, it has begun.
mark yaconelli who was the first general session speaker hit home with so many of us in the room. there was not a dry eye in the place after his closing story. i need to befriend my weaknesses. thanks for kicking me in the backside mark.
more to come.
