about jeff

My name is Jeff Smyth and I am an adventurer who loves to explore and elevate others to achieve what God has destined for them in life and their mission. I am a certified life coach and I am passionate to journey alongside those who are seeking to have bearing on and significance in present day culture. I am married to Heather who is a bone marrow transplant survivor from leukaemia (CLL) and we have one son, Nathan.

I am currently the Coordinator of Community Initiatives in Scarborough with Youth Unlimited (Toronto YFC).

I started this blog in February 2008 and have kept it up at various levels ever since. I love to think about youth ministry, cancer and life and write about resources and tools for youth workers which just might help make your job a little bit easier.

I would like to personally invite you to take some time to look around and get a feel for what life and youth ministry is like from a Canadian perspective. You can follow along by subscribing to my RSS Feed, Linkedin or jumping over to my twitter account – @jeffsmyth

  1. Hi Jeff & Heather,

Not sure if you know me by name..but Im the newest addtion to the YU/LAUNCH team :). We cant even begin to imagine what you must be going through..we havea 2 & 1/2 yr old daughter Annika and wonder how we would deal with a similar situation if God decided sometime thats what he wanted for us…..but we are really encouraged to see how positive, upbeat and at peace with all of this you both are. We are continuing to pray for you three and that our Lord & Saviour will be glorified in all of this. May His peace, that passeth all understanding, be yours, as you continue to lean on Him and trust Him. Its amazing how he continues to provide for even the smallest details in our lives.. .like the sunny room :). May he continue to give you the Grace, the patience and the wisdom as you go through this time and His purproses in your lives are fulfilled…Thank you both once again for being such an encouragement and amazing testimony to us and so many others… With our love & prayers, Blessings, Yeshwin, Shammah & Annika Thomas.
